Pocket PC CDDB2 Project

As i am a satisfied user of Broken Cross Discmanager i started to write an Application for using my Database on a PocketPC device as well as on the Desktop PC.

The Version is free of charge for anyone but without any warranty. Redistribution is not allowed. The Software is for personal use only.

1. Copy the cab file to your Pocket PC device and click it. It should install automatical.
The software is based on the MS .NET Compact Framework 2.0.

I had not much possibilities to test the installation and the application so... let me know your experiences or problems. As i have time to, i will try to improve the application.

2. Install Broken Cross in the Unicode Version !!!!! and select Export in menu.
Export only the Data you realy need to XML format.

3. Copy the XML File to your PPC and start the Application PPC_CDDB2 there.

4. Select the "Import XML/OpenDB" Tab and enter a valid Path and DB Name for your Database like
"\SD-MMCard\cddb2.sdf". Press "Create DB". Now you should find the empty DB file in the specified folder

5. Select the XML file in the same Tab and select options. As the XML file holds a large amount of information you should only import information that you REALY need!!! The import process will take very long as the whole file will be parsed.
"don't read Files" means that only Directories will be exported and no files (which reduces amount of data on your Device).
"Delete XML file after Import" means that the XML source will be removed as it is no longer needed after import.

6. "Import XML to Database" starts import process (may take VERY long) to the SQLServer CE database.
After successfull import view changes to "Tree" view and the data is displayed. You can navigate through your Data or search for keywords. Please let me know your ideas or suggestions. On next start the last DB is automaticaly selected and opened. To speed up your DB delete unused information in Treeview using the context menu.
